Vintage 50’s Photo Shoot.
I do love Madmen. It’s my fave show on current television. So when my dear friend Jess of Jehkat.blogspot.ca said I could style her for a shoot, well, it was an easy peasy decision to make her into a Vintage Vixen! As her blog is all about cooking and baking (seriously, check it out everyone- some really good recipes!), it was only natural to have a 50’s housewife theme!
I have a great dress that I wanted to showcase, the brand, of course, I forgot to check before I packed it up! EPIC FAIL! Don’t worry, I wear it in the summer, so I shall definitely get it for you guys. I bought it from Space Vintage here in Toronto, I just loved the Toile de Jouy pattern and the material is so light. It was such a great find.
The necklace is from China and the earrings are vintage pieces given to me by my Aunt in Poland! The apron was a last minute addition found at Value Village that same evening.
Out of all the shots we took, the one below, edited to look vintage, is my most absolute fave. It was a candid shot taken by the photographer (aka Ken Brown) and it was taken while we were getting Jess ready for the shoot. It captures Jess’ beauty so much, and along with the curlers and make up, still holds true to the 50’s theme.
Thanks SO MUCH again Jess, what a terrific model and what a great shoot! xo
